2012 Scribe nominees announced

I’m between events at Timegate — where I’ll be signing and speaking at panels here in Atlanta tomorrow and Sunday — but on my break I was pleased to hear that Star Wars: Knight Errant had been nominated for a Scribe Award by the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers.  Here’s the press release: The International Association of Media Tie-In Writers (www.iamtw.org) co-founders Lee Goldberg & Max Allan Collins are …

KOTOR War 5 notes and a road trip

The notes for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic #5 are now online — just hours to spare before I begin my trip south. See them here — and of course, the comic book can still be obtained from your local comics shop or from TFAW. That trip includes a signing from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23 at Comics Exchange, 3711 Chapman Hwy,  in Knoxville, Tenn. I went …

KOTOR War finale soars into stores

And the final issue of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – War arc hits stores tomorrow, almost exactly a year after I first wrote the plot for it. It’s true — comics are like time travel. Writing them, anyway! Notes to come as soon as I get time — hopefully sooner this month than last month. Following this, the first issue of Star Wars: Knight Errant – …

Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith — the comics series!

Happy Star Wars day, all — and I am pleased to be able to reveal the Secret Project I’ve been hinting about from time to time on Twitter. USA Today has the first interview about it — the Lost Tribe of the Sith comics series from Dark Horse! As the interview says, the comics story picks up not long after where the new novella in Lost Tribe of the Sith: …

Knight Errant issues available in library-binding hardcovers

This is kind of a cool thing — designed for a specialty trade, elementary school libraries. Dark Horse has teamed up with Abdo Publishing to release a number of individual comics in hardcover board-book format, a sturdy design intended for circulation in libraries — and Star Wars: Knight Errant – Aflame #1-5 are part of the pilot program. Got my copies today and they’re pretty cool. Again, they’re priced for …

R.I.P. Dick Clark

I post TV trivia and memorabilia on my Facebook page from time to time; after today’s sad news about Dick Clark, I remembered where I had seen the first listing for American Bandstand’s network edition in TV Guide. Here’s the listing for Monday afternoon, August 5, 1957: Clark’s first guests were the Chordettes and Billy Williams (no, not that Billy Williams). The show had previously begun in 1952 in Philadelphia …

The world of Kesh gets bigger — and maps!

Fun news! Del Rey announced today that the format had changed for the Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith: The Collected Stories book. It’s bigger — and it’s coming sooner. And, I can now finally talk about one of the other things we’ve had under wraps: it’s got maps! Instead of being a mass-market paperback, the book will be a larger trade paperback (the same size as the Karen …
