Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Knights of the Old Republic Omnibus releases — plus Geek-Kon schedule, and more!

Okay, I admit it — I’ve got a whole bunch going on right now, and it’s impacted my ability to blog in any kind of a regular fashion. I just finished work on Star Trek: Titan – Absent Enemies — and went headlong into preparations for the release of Star Wars: Kenobi on August 27. I’ve already done a half-dozen podcasts, most yet to go online — and there are …

KOTOR Labor Pains, other Star Wars short stories again available!

Today sees the release of Pablo Hidalgo‘s excellent Star Wars: The Essential Reader’s Companion from Random House/Del Rey. It’s a massive tome which starts a long time ago with a certain group of location-challenged Sith and goes on from there, covering all the Star Wars fiction in print. And now, some of that fiction is back in print, thanks to Del Rey, on its Suvudu site — including my very …

Carrick Station? Say, that sounds familiar…

The Old Republic MMORPG is on the launchpad — and as players of the beta are now able to report, there is at least one familiar name to be found: Carrick Station, an important hub. The game’s site is here; Google a bit, and you’ll get a look at the location itself. I’ve been asked a few times already about whether there’s a direct in-universe connection between that naming and …

Gryph Rushmore!

OK, I admit I didn’t know this site existed — but Darthipedia’s piece on The Gryph from Knights of the Old Republic is an absolute howl. Props to the writers for giving him Danny Devito‘s line from Other People’s Money. I think Marn and Larry the Liquidator would be wonderful friends, after they had completely and absolutely established that the other no longer had a dime to his name.

Jarael, Rohlan action figure pack now available separately

Last week, Entertainment Earth began selling the Jarael and Rohlan action figures as part of a set including the entire final wave of Comic Packs. As of today, they’re also selling the pack individually, so you can get just the ones you want. The Comic Packs are EE’s best-selling set in a long time, from what I understand. Preorders for the Jarael/Rohlan set run $17.99, with the figures shipping later …

“The Secret Journal of Doctor Demagol” now online!

A busy week for short stories! The Secret Journal of Doctor Demagol is now online here at StarWars.com on its Hyperspace fan club service. This is a fun little story I had originally conceived of as a companion piece for Demagol’s origin story, which eventually ran in Knights of the Old Republic #48. In effect, we get to see what was going on “behind the mask” from the beginning of …

Good heavens! Two posts in two days.Well, that’s because there is something from Chicago: the first of two podcasts I recorded there, with Forcecast. A wide-ranging discussion, talking about all of my various works, past and upcoming. Enjoy! Click to post a comment!

Bonus KOTOR, Midsouthcon & more…

A few things. First off, Midsouthcon was great, as usual. I don’t have any photos of my own this time, but it was great getting to meet Kevin J. Anderson, Rebecca Moesta, Gail Simone, and all the other guests there — and we had some very good panels. (That’s me and Gail in the pic, image courtesy Lin Workman.) My own annual panel on new projects had the largest audience …
