Star Trek: Picard – Rogue Elements wins 2022 Scribe Award

Well, I’m floored. I just heard from fellow nominee (and 2022’s recipient of the Faust Grandmaster Award) David Mack that my Star Trek: Picard – Rogue Elements received the Scribe Award for Best Tie-In Novel – Speculative from the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers this afternoon at Comic-Con International San Diego. It’s my third in the category following Star Wars: Kenobi in 2014 and last year’s Star Trek: Discovery – Die Standing.

I wrote Rogue Elements to be a lighthearted spree in what was a pretty dark year, something fun for me as well as readers. I’m thrilled it found an audience, andI thank the judges for the honor. Part of this belongs to editors Margaret Clark and Ed Schlesinger, as well as Dayton Ward, Scott Pearson, and John Van Citters — and many thanks to Picard series co-creator Kirsten Beyer for all her help and inspiration. And thanks of course to Santiago Cabrera for creating a great character in Chirstóbal Rios!

Last but not least, I want to laud the work of the talented novelists in this category, Carrie Harris, Richard Lee Byers, Evan Dicken, and, of course, David, who graciously shared some words on my behalf at the ceremony today. I am humbled to be in their company. Read their books, folks — you’ll be the ones rewarded!

I’m not at Comic-Con partly because I’m proofreading Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – The High Country which releases Feb. 21, 2023 from Gallery Books — see more here. But you can find Rogue Elements in shops now and at the outlets below.
Thanks, all!
