Another fun issue, as we advance the story and raise the stakes. We see things have gotten completely out of hand near the center of the galaxy. Petrovsky spouts his historical references — and Aria calls him on the corniness of it, as is her wont. But she still sees that he knows what he’s doing; all that history actually amounts to something.

It was necessary, as well, in some dialogue to establish why Aria couldn’t just block or mine the entrance to the mass relay. The characters might know the answer, but the readers needed to. This is the trick with these kinds of stories — you never know what readers are already aware of.

“I should never leave business unfinished!” — General Oleg Petrovsky

Boy, Omega looks like a creepy floating brain in some shots. Cool.

Anto finally gets a last name, Korragan.

Avernus and its connection to both Hades and Marcus Agrippa were exactly the sorts of things Petrovsky would know about. Who says comics aren’t educational?
